This afternoon, your Fenix Aventuras representative will greet you at your hotel and present your comprehensive Orientation Packet, carefully reviewing all materials to prepare you for your coastal pilgrimage.

    Together, we'll walk to collect your first official stamp in your Pilgrim's Passport before settling in for a memorable dinner featuring traditional Portuguese specialties. This is your chance to ask any last-minute questions and ease any pre-journey nerves.

Upon arrival, head straight to the Pilgrims' Office to collect your final stamp and request your hard-earned Compostela certificate—official recognition of your completed pilgrimage.

Important Information

The Official Compostela Certificate

This 260-kilometer journey qualifies you to request the Compostela—the official certificate issued by the Cathedral of Santiago recognizing your completed pilgrimage. To receive it, you must collect stamps in your Pilgrim's Passport at churches, accommodations, and other designated locations along the way, and present your stamped passport at the Pilgrims' Office in Santiago.

Physical Requirements

This self-guided tour involves daily walking distances ranging from 13 to 26 kilometers (8 to 16 miles) on varied terrain including coastal paths, forest trails, paved roads, and some steep sections. A moderate level of fitness is recommended. While you walk at your own pace, you should be comfortable covering these distances each day.

    Please note: As you'll be walking through rural countryside and small villages, the availability of higher-category hotels along the entire route is limited. We've struck the perfect balance between comfort and authentic Camino experience.

  • All fourteen breakfasts are included with your accommodations. We've arranged for these to be enhanced beyond the standard Spanish breakfast of coffee and toast— you'll need proper fuel for your walking days!

    On your first evening, we'll take you to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Porto, where wine and beer are included with your meal. Following this, we'll provide you with a curated list of excellent restaurants along the Camino with specific recommendations for each town.

    Have dietary restrictions or allergies? Just let us know, and we'll coordinate with your hotels to accommodate your needs—whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, or other requirements.

  • We arrange the transfer of one suitcase or piece of luggage (up to 45 pounds / 20 kg) per person between your hotels each day of your walk.   • In Santiago, our knowledgeable local art historian will guide you through the magnificent Cathedral and surrounding plazas, bringing centuries of history to life. This service requires a minimum of 5 participants.

  • Though this tour is self-guided, we limit each departure to a maximum of 16 participants. This ensures availability and quality of services along the route. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
